Welcome to Soully ("we", "our", or "us"). Soully is a voice-first AI mental wellness companion app designed to provide emotional support, guided conversations, and sleep sounds.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services. By using Soully, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

📋 Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Name, email address, and profile details provided during sign-up (via email, Google, or Apple Sign-In)
• Voice data: Audio recordings captured during voice sessions for transcription and AI response. Audio is processed in real-time and is not stored permanently on our servers.
• Conversation transcripts: Text transcriptions of your voice sessions, stored to provide session history and personalised context
• Usage data: Session duration, feature usage, and app interaction data used to improve the product
• Mood and wellness data: Any mood scores or notes you provide within the app
• Device information: Device type, OS version, and app version for debugging and compatibility
• Subscription information: Subscription tier and purchase history managed via Apple App Store or Google Play

🎙️ Microphone Access

Soully requires microphone access to enable voice conversations with your AI companion. Microphone access is only active during an active voice session — it is never recording in the background.

Your voice audio is streamed to our backend for speech-to-text transcription (via OpenAI Whisper) and processed to generate a response. Audio data is not stored after the session completes.

🤖 AI Processing & Third-Party Services

To deliver our AI companion experience, we use the following third-party services which may process your data:

• OpenAI — AI language model for generating companion responses and speech-to-text transcription (Whisper)
• ElevenLabs — Text-to-speech voice synthesis for the AI companion's voice responses
• Supabase — Backend database and authentication for storing your account, session history, and preferences
• RevenueCat — Subscription management and entitlement verification
• Expo / EAS — App build and update delivery infrastructure

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

• To provide, operate, and improve the Soully app and AI companion experience
• To personalise your sessions based on conversation history and preferences
• To manage your account and subscription
• To send app-related notifications (only if you grant permission)
• To diagnose technical issues and improve app stability
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

🗄️ Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase-managed servers. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is restricted to authorised personnel only.

Conversation transcripts are stored in your account and can be deleted by you at any time from within the app. Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data from our systems within 30 days.

👶 Children's Privacy

Soully is not intended for users under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

🌍 Data Transfers

Soully operates globally. Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States, where our third-party service providers operate. By using Soully, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with applicable data protection laws.

Soully may send push notifications for session reminders or app updates. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device settings. We do not send marketing or promotional push notifications without explicit consent.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via the app or email. Continued use of Soully after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
